The concept of the Original Skate Squeegee™ was born in 2007 when Brian Mixdorf, a New Ulm Minnesota Hockey Coach, did not have a dry rag to clean the blades of his son’s hockey skates after practice. After approximately two years of research and development, the Original Skate Squeegee™ has emerged as the premium method to maintain your hockey players skate blades. Using the Original Skate Squeegee™ as his central product, Brian Mixdorf formed his company, WLR Enterprises, LLC.
WLR Enterprises was chosen as the company name to honor his grandfather Russell L. Wenkstern. Russell Wenkstern was the chief executive and president of Tonka Toys from 1961 to 1977. Tonka Toys was located in Mound, Minnesota.
The idea of the Original Skate Squeegee™ is simple, to eliminate the need to use a rag to wipe off hockey skate blades after use. The Original Skate Squeegee™ is designed as an effective, safe, and simple way to clean your blades. It does not retain moisture, thus not contributing to the unique scent of a hockey player’s bag. It is portable, and held easily in your hand. The Original Skate Squeegee™ is made of only the best materials, to ensure a quality product that will hold up to the rigorous demands of the hockey player.
The design of the product is also very important to the overall functionality of the Original Skate Squeegee™. Everything from the materials, to the individual elements that make up this product, was evaluated for effectiveness.
